Everyone is invited to join Westerly Creek and welcome our new Stapleton 3 families and friends at our 2010 Direct Giving Parties. Enjoy delicious food & drink, learn more about our school's academic and fundraising goals, and get to know the other parents of your child's classmates!
Food donated by Jimmy John's of Stapleton at Quebec Square!
The PTA and Staff will give a brief presentation on the vision for WCE and how fundraising is essential to the school's success. Direct Giving contributions go directly to WCE. These funds improve the student-teacher ratios by having paraprofessionals in every classroom, fill empty library shelves with books, provide updated technology, purchase additional classroom materials and programs for students.
ALL PARTIES BEGIN AT 6:30pm. You are welcome to attend any party you would like. We will be focusing the presentations on certain grade levels at each party. Please indicate on your rsvp which party you plan to attend. RSVP at http://www.evite.com/pages/invite/viewInvite.jsp?inviteId=PYRCVGTWZMISOKHZDQPW

Letter from the Principal:
Dear Westerly Creek and Stapleton III Families:
It’s hard to imagine that less than a year ago we were meeting in the gymnasium of William Roberts not sure of the future of the schools in the Stapleton neighborhood. As a member of this rapidly growing and inclusive neighborhood, you have likely watched this evolution and experienced the electrical energy of watching shared vision become a reality. Indeed, this momentum fuels us in growing a learning community that embodies a love of learning, academic excellence, and parent involvement. Both schools share these values and a common campus, and for the 2010/2011 school year will consider ourselves one school.
We hope you had plenty of time to enjoy the summer with family, friends and loved ones and that you are as excited as we are to be starting this historic school year. We are officially open and we have been working hard to ensure that 2010-2011 is a smooth transition for returning families and a warm and welcoming experience to all new families in our community. To kick things off, we have many new members of our community as well as some movement between grade levels. We have included a staff list for both schools so families can reference when needed.
The teachers return to work on August 13th. The days are devoted to professional development and classroom planning. We will enjoy time getting to know one another as well as begin the process of developing our new school improvement plans. We believe that a love of learning, high academic achievement and parental involvement are keys to a lifelong education. We look forward to our continued partnership between the school, home and the community. We are all excited to begin a successful school year together.
We are excited about the upcoming school year and working with all of you. Together we can make a difference in the lives of our children. Enjoy the last week of summer vacation and remember our partnership with parents is a priority. Please do not hesitate to contact any of us if there is any way that we can help. We can be reached by email, phone, or just stop in! We look forward to working toward a successful and rewarding school year with you.
Warm regards,

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:Patio furniture, sidewalk chalk and ice cream sandwiches - these are all things you can purchase with your King Soopers gift cards. Just because your kids will be slacking off over summer break doesn't mean you should too. Don't forget to use your King Soopers gift card for all your summer grocery purchases. Remember 5% goes to the Westerly Creek PTA to help provide paraprofessional support in the classrooms. If you need a new card or want to join this easy fundraising program, contact Melissa Martin at melissaandchris@earthlink.
